Dubai Maritime Authority - FAQ

Customer Happiness Center working hours from 08:00 AM to 01:30 PM and Contact Center working hours from 07:30 AM to 03:30 PM from Sunday to Thursday.

The main Customer Happiness Center is located in the Ground Floor at Maritime Business Center, Dubai Maritime City.

Original Emirates ID card and passport copy for UAE nationals, or original Emirates ID card and copy of passport and valid residence permit for expatriates.
Applicant shall not be less than (16) years old if the boat is up to 12 m and 18 years old if the boat is between 12 m and 24 m.
Original copy of medical fitness certificate issued by DMCA certified medical centres.
The original copy of the certificate of passing the qualifying courses issued by one of the training centers accredited by the Authority within UAE , or issued from outside the country or a driving license issued from outside UAE to be equivalent to a driving license issued by the Authority.

Original Emirates ID card and passport copy for UAE nationals, or original Emirates ID card and copy of passport and valid residence permit for expatriates. Original renewed copy of expired competency certificate.
Original DMCA marine craft driving license if it’s not expired.

The applicant shall not be less than (18) years old if the boat up to 12 m and (20) years old if the boat between 12 m up to 24 m.
Original copy of medical fitness certificate issued by DMCA certified medical centers.
Original copy of valid good conduct certificate issued by Dubai Police General Headquarters.
NOC from sponsor if applicant is expatriate with Emirates ID copy for the sponsor.
The original copy of the certificate of passing the qualifying courses issued by one of the training centers accredited by the Authority within UAE, or issued from outside the country or a driving license issued from outside UAE to be equivalent to a driving license issued by the Authority.
Original certificate copy of marine safety courses.
Original certificate copy of marine communication courses.

Original Emirates ID card, valid passport copy for UAE nationals or original Emirates ID card, valid passport and residence visa copy for expatriates.
Valid copy of Dubai issued trade license, in case the owner is a company, in addition to the Emirates ID card, valid passport and residence visa copy of the company’s shareholder.
A copy of the ownership of the property or a partner in a commercial license or salary certificate shows the monthly income is not less than 20,000 Dirhams, or the whole monthly gross income is 20000 Dirhams.
Original copy of certificate of conformity issued by Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), for the new outboard or imported marine engines.
Original certificate copy of approved supplier to license radio communication devices (VHF) for all commercial marine crafts and pleasure marine crafts more than (35) feet, (10.7) meters long.
Original copy of stability book for commercial marine crafts, (24) meters and above, and those licensed to carry more than (12) passengers, regardless of type or structure material.
Original copy of classification certificate for commercial marine crafts, (24) meters and above, and total weight of (150) tons or more, from any certified classification body in the country.
A copy of the mortgage for the encumbered maritime between the owner of the maritime and the creditor and the mortgagee to the UAE citizens.
A copy of the insurance policy shall be valid for (13) months, and the validity period shall not be less than (12) months from the issuance of the license.
Original copy of proof of ownership document or marine craft purchase invoice attested by the certified authorities.
The original copy of the customs clearance certificate issued by the competent authorities in the UAE.
Original copy of marine craft building certificate or any document from the manufacturer or supplier listing the marine craft details.
Original copy of bill of sale attested by the certified authorities.
Original copy of cancellation certificate of the marine craft registration issued by the last authority where the marine craft was registered.
A copy of an annual berth contract from one of the emirate's marine clubs or berths or a trailer license from RTA.
GPS tracker transponder certificate for the marine craft in accordance with the requirements Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA) and deliver the original certificate to DMCA.
