DMCA adopts simplified procedures for inspecting Foreign Visiting Yachts
The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has adopted simplified procedures required for inspecting foreign yachts visiting the Emirate of Dubai, supporting the initiative of "Dubai as a Leading Winter Yachting destination”.
H.E. Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of Dubai Maritime City Authority, stressed that the decision comes in line with the Authority's direction towards strengthening the distinguished position of the Emirate and supporting “Dubai as a Leading Winter Yachting Destination” initiative. The Authority, in coordination with Dubai Customs, has implemented inspection procedures for visiting foreign yachts upon their arrival at berth. The inspection will be carried out by Dubai Customs inspectors.
Sheikh Saeed explained that this approach comes amid the Authority's efforts to provide an integrated portfolio of services related to the Marine Leisure Sector, quickly and easily, with the aim of attracting more foreign yachts to the Emirate.
The Executive Director of DMCA clarifies that inspection for visiting foreign yachts are carried out around the clock after informing the Authority on the date of arrival for the visiting yacht., adding that the inspection procedure is a pivotal stage to ensure the management of marine operations in accordance with the high standards of occupational safety and best local and international practices, in order to serve the objectives of elevating the safety and competitiveness for the Maritime Sector in the Emirate of Dubai.
It is worth noting that simplifying the inspection procedures for visiting foreign yachts represents a continuation of the positive outcomes achieved by DMCA in terms of facilitating the services for the benefit of owners, operators and renters of foreign yachts visiting the Emirate.
“The Authority is committed to provide high end services, that guarantee the visiting foreign yachts a unique experience upon arrival, supported by the world-class infrastructure and well-developed facilities that enhance Dubai's position as a Global Yachting Destination and consolidate its ranking among the Leading Maritime Capitals of the World,” Sheikh Saeed added.
